1.     UGC NET

The National Eligibility Test is more popularly known as the UGC NETis a national-wide assessment conducted each year, since 2018, by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). 

This process is conducted to identify candidates for the Asst. Professor/lecturer position or for Jr. fellowship programs (or both). 

The UGC NET was earlier conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). 

Unlike most other renowned exams, the UGC NET dictates that you have a master's degree (related to the field you want to pursue your career as a lecturer or professor in) to be eligible for the exam. 

The revised per month salary according to the 7th pay commission can be up to Rs. 67,000 based on your area of expertise and employer.

2.     CTET

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test more commonly referred to as the CTETis administered by the CBSE to assess candidates who aspire to become a school teachers for classes 1 to 8. 

The exam pattern and selection process may vary based on the classes you want to teach for.

 Any graduate or any candidate who is currently in the final year of their B.Ed/ elementary education diploma can also appear for the CTET. The USP of the CTET is that the scores are valid for 7 years after you take the exam. 

Having said that, It is advisable to take the exam right away since the competition is increasing year on year. 

The acceptance ratio is close to 22%. Over 24 lakh candidates applied and around 5.5 lakh of them qualified. The salary ranges from Rs. 37,000 to Rs. 50,000 based on various criteria such as educational qualification, the classes you teach, etc.

3.     SSC CGL

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an autonomous recruiting agency that conducts the SSC CGL (SSC Combined Graduate Level) exam annually to recruit skilled personnel for around 34 group B and C posts across departments, ministries, and branches in the Government of India. 

Any graduate can apply for the SSC CGL. You can even apply for more than one post if you are eligible for it. 

This is a very competitive exam with over 20 lakh aspirants registering for 10,000 odd vacancies across job profiles each year. Some of the popular job titles on offer are Assistant Audit Officer, Auditor, Income Tax Inspector (IT Inspector) and Junior Accountant. 

The gross salary can vary from INR 24,000 to INR 60,000 based on the job profile and the city of occupation.

4.     RRB NTPC

The RRB NTPC or the Railways Recruitment Board’s Non-Technical Popular Categories is conducted by the Indian Railways, the largest employer in the country. 

True to its reputation of being the largest employer in the country, year on year, 35,000 to 45,000 vacant positions are available.

 Up to 1 crore aspirants apply for the RRB NTPC making it one of the most sought after exams. 

Recruitment for 13 job profiles is done through the RRB NTPC including the popular ones such as station master, accounts clerk cum typist, senior timekeeper, etc.

 The eligibility criteria vary based on the job profile you wish to apply for. 

There are 5 positions that anyone with an Undergraduate degree can apply for while there are 8 lucrative profiles (gross salary of up to Rs. 40,000 per month) for which only candidates with a graduate degree can apply.  More vacancies are usually available for the latter category.

You could also explore exams or selection processes conducted by your state’s PSC (Public Service Commission), UPSC CSE (Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam) and bank exams such as the SBI PO, IBPS PO, RBI Grade B.

 

Clearing these exams and landing a lucrative job will not be a walk in the park, given the lakhs of other aspirants like you competing for the limited vacant positions.

  1. Hi, It's a great opportunity to prepare for UGC NET Exams, But Exams are helping within 3 months. It's hard to get prepare own. I am not sure but one of my friend suggested that If you are preparing for NET Exams. Then, you should go with Anuj Jindal. Because, trust factor always create when you heard about them. This is my point of view please suggest me more UGC NET Coaching Institutes?. So that I can analyze myself as well.
